The invention is related to the use of methylene blue with the aim of inhibiting colistin-resistant or colistin-susceptible Acinetobacter baumannii organisms. The topic of this invention, the use of methylene blue, will increase the susceptibility to colistin of A. baumannii bacteria susceptible to colistin and completely inhibit or reduce the resistance of A. baumannii bacteria resistant to colistin.
