PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric hoist which can effectively control power transmission for hoisting and feeding utilizing a drive force of an electric motor in both rotation directions while simplifying a structure of the hoist as a whole, and reducing a size and weight, can prevent or suppress to the minimum an unnecessary fall of an object, and can timely, continuously and quickly perform hoisting work and feeding work efficiently.SOLUTION: This electric hoist 1 comprises: an electric motor 2 which is fixed and supported to a hoist main body 6； a rotating body 4 for winding a traction member； and a bidirectional clutch 15 which transmits the rotation of the electric motor 2 to the rotating body 4 side, but does not transmit the rotation of the rotating body 4 to the electric motor 2 side.
