An object of the present invention is to provide an immunoregulatory agent capable of regulating receptor function relating to DR6 immunoregulation and a screening method thereof. The present invention relates to an immunoregulator comprising as an active ingredient a physiologically active substance having a specific binding ability to DR6 and a signal transduction control function induced by specific binding between DR6 and Sdc1. The immunoregulatory agent of the present invention is based on a mechanism of action that has not been known so far. It can be used for the treatment or prevention of diseases caused by excessive or abnormal immune responses or diseases for which enhancement of immune function in mammals is desired.
