A system or a method for assisting an individual to acclimatize to hot environment prior to being exposed to the hot environment using a measured heart rate with or without a measured skin temperature and/or a measured body core temperature. A Physiological Strain Index (PSI) or adaptive PSI (aPSI) is calculated for the individual to provide a target for the individual's exertion level such that an area under the calculated PSI/aPSI curve is used to determine the amount of heat acclimatization that has occurred for that particular training session and/or prior training sessions.La présente invention concerne un système ou un procédé pour aider un individu à s'acclimater à un environnement chaud avant d'être exposé à l'environnement chaud à l'aide d'une mesure de fréquence cardiaque avec ou sans mesure de température de peau et/ou de mesure de température interne de corps. Un indice de contrainte physiologique (ICP) ou d'ICP adaptative (ICPa) est calculé pour l'individu afin de fournir une cible pour le niveau d'effort de l'individu de sorte qu'une aire sous la courbe ICP/ICPa calculée soit utilisée pour déterminer la quantité d'acclimatation à la chaleur qui s'est produite pour cette session d'entraînement particulière et/ou des sessions d'apprentissage antérieures.
