PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a worker to easily adjust the length of a belt of a portable work machine while carrying the machine.SOLUTION: A worker grips a grip 132 of a length adjustment part 13. In this state, a bush cutter 1 becomes hung from the length adjustment part 13 instead of the shoulder because the length adjustment part 13 is attached to an operation rod 2 (belt attaching metal fitting 6) through a fixed belt 12 having a fixed length. In this state, the worker can easily hold a stopper 133 while gripping the grip 132. At the time, when the worker holds the stopper without touching a variable belt 14, the variable belt 14 becomes shorter. Then, when the worker releases his/her hand off from the stopper 133 while the length of the variable belt 14 is a desired length, the length of the variable belt 14 is fixed to the desired length.
