A solid cosmetic product comprising (i) an inner non effervescent material comprising at least a colouring and a solid carrier material, wherein the solid carrier material is a powder, wherein the non-effervescent material does not effervesce on contact with water； (ii) an outer effervescent material, wherein the effervescent material is capable of effervescence on contact with water, wherein the outer effervescent material envelops the inner non-effervescent material. Also disclosed is a method for the preparation of such solid compositions.
