PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of thinning the thickness of a flap absorptive layer, improving a liquid-retaining property of the flap absorptive layer and reducing liquid backward flow in the flap absorptive layer in the absorbent article having rear flaps with the flap absorptive layers.
SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 is provided with a substantially vertically long absorbent body 2 having body absorptive layers 21 and 23 and a body leakage-preventing layer 22, and the pair of rear flaps 3 extending at least from the respective both sides in the rear part in the absorbent body 2 the rear flap 3 has a flap surface sheet 31, a flap back face sheet 32 and the flap absorptive body 33 interposed therebetween, the flap absorptive body 33 has a polymer sheet formed by mixing absorptive polymer with a fiber assembly, and the upper face side of the flap absorptive body 33 is functioned as a temporary liquid-retaining layer.
