A system and method based on EEG (electroencephalogram, EEG) signal for IADL (instrumental activities of daily living, IADL) assessment is provided. The system includes: an EEG signal unit and an IADL assessment unit. The EEG signal unit is configured to receive the EEG signals obtained from the user, extract features from the EEG signals and send the result to the IADL assessment unit.
