PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-absorbent resin capable of designing an absorbent core or an absorbent article directly washable off in a flush toilet etc.
SOLUTION: The water-absorbent resin consists essentially of repeating units having an ionic dissociating group in the main chain or side chain. The water-absorbent resin has a CRCs (absorption capacity without load) of &ge10 g/g to physiological saline solution for 4 h and &ge50 mass% solubility in ion-exchanged water.
