The present invention relates to a method for synthesizing a sweetened tea in the form of a stevia composition coated sweetened tea. The method of synthesizing the sweetened tea comprises preparing a sweetener composition mixture, coating a plurality of tea leaves with the sweetener composition mixture and drying the plurality of tea leaves. The present invention provides a calorie free and easy to prepare tea. The shelf life of the stevia coated tea is also higher than the commercially available tea.
