PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ophthalmic compositions containing three polymers.SOLUTION: There are provided ophthalmic compositions suitable for use as artificial tears, or ophthalmic compositions suitable for use as vehicles for ophthalmic drugs. The compositions include a combination of three polymers that have a synergistic effect on viscosity. The three polymers are hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, and a combination of two polymers.
