Disclosed is an antibody or an epitope-binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to an EphA2 receptor and comprising at least one heavy chain and at least one light chain, wherein said heavy chain comprises a sequence having at least 95% homology with an amino acid sequence consisting of SEQ ID NO: 12 and comprises three sequential complementarity-determining regions having amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 1, 2, and 3, and wherein said light chain comprises a sequence having at least 95% homology with an amino acid sequence consisting of SEQ ID NO: 14, comprises three sequential complementarity-determining regions having amino acid sequences represented by SEQ ID NOS: 4, 5 and 6 and comprises an arginine residue in position 35. The sequences are as disclosed in the specification. Also disclosed is the use of said antibody to treat cancer.
