FIELD: veterinary science.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary science and is intended for preventing and treating gastrointestinal diseases in calves. Method involves using mixture of water-alcohol infusion of purple echinacea herb and inula rootstock in preparation on basis of 70 % of ethyl alcohol and water solution of silver, dissolved in boiled water. Mixture is administered to calves orally 20–30 minutes before feeding twice a day in morning and evening for no more than 10 days, in dose of 0.10–0.12 ml per 1 kg of body weight. Water-alcohol infusion diluted with boiled water in amount of 130–150 ml per 180–220 kg of animals weight is prepared as follows: 2 parts of purple echinacea herb, 1 part of inula rootstock and 1 part of calendula flowers are mixed with 70 vol% of ethanol in ratio 1:5 and settled for 5-9 days at temperature of 36–44 °C. Produced tincture is brought to 30 % concentration with distilled water, and water solution of silver is introduced into tincture in dose of no more than 200 ml, which is not more than 8 mg of silver ions with 100–120 ml of boiled water per 30–40 kg of body weight.EFFECT: disclosed method enables more effective prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in calves.1 cl, 2 tbl, 1 exЗаявленное изобретение относится к области ветеринарии и предназначено для профилактики и лечения желудочно-кишечных заболеваний у телят. Способ включает использование смеси водно-спиртовой настойки из травы эхинацеи пурпурной и корневища девясила при приготовленной на основе 70% этилового спирта и водного раствора серебра, разбавленного в кипяченой воде. Смесь телятам дают перорально за 20-30 мин до кормления дают два раза в сутки утром и вечером в течение не более 10 дней, в дозе 0,10-0,12 мл на 1 кг массы животного. Разбавленную кипяченой водой в количестве 130-150 мл на 180-220 кг массы животного водно-спиртовую настойку готовят следующим образом: 2 части травы эхинацеи пурпурной, 1 часть корневища девясила и 1 часть цветков
