Two-phase gel compositions are provided. The two-phase gel compositions areobtained bymixing a gelled ester composition comprising a mixture of an ester compoundand a polymer compoundselected from the group consisting of triblock copolymers, star polymers,radial polymers, multi-blockcopolymers, and a combination thereof and a hydrophobic, non polar solvent.The gelled ester has aviscosity .eta.1 and the solvent has a viscosity .eta.2. The two-phase getcomposition is substantially free ofphosphate compounds and has a viscosity .eta. which is greater than or equalto .eta.1 and which is greater thanor equal to .eta.2. The two-phase gel compositions may be used to suspendvarious solids, liquids and/orgases.
