The invention relates to the use of erythropoietin (EPO), in particular EPO ina polymer-basedpharmaceutical preparation which stabilises the active compound, for thetreatment oftraumatised skin, in particular for wound healing in the case of mechanical orpathologicalinjuries or in the case of burns.In particular, the invention also relates to specific viscous or gelatinousformulations, inparticular based on polysaccharides, preferably cellulose derivatives, whichcomprise EPO andare capable of stabilising the latter and releasing it slowly and uniformly tothe wound.
