The present invention provides a method for producing transgenic Cotton plants. In one method transformed plants, that overexpress the transgene shows a phenotype that includes increased boll number, size and lint percentage in compare to the wild type plants whereas in the second method transformed plants that reduced the transgene level produced plants with decreased number of cotton boll, size and lint percentage in compare to wild type and overexpression line both. q-RT PCR analysis showed that transgene transcript level was higher at fiber initiation stage (0DPA) after that its level decreases throughout all developmental stages.La présente invention concerne un procédé de production de plants de coton transgéniques. Selon un procédé, des plants transformés, surexprimant le transgène présentent un phénotype caractérisé par un nombre de capsules, une taille et un pourcentage de fibres supérieurs à ceux des plants de type sauvage. Selon un second procédé, en revanche, les plants transformés présentent un niveau de transgène inférieur avec un nombre de capsules de coton, une taille et un pourcentage de fibres de coton inférieurs à ceux de type sauvage, mais une lignée de surexpression dans les deux cas. Une analyse par RT PCR quantitative a montré que le niveau de transcrits transgéniques était supérieur au stade de lapparition des fibres (0DPA), puis quil baissait tout au long des différents stades de développement.
