The present invention relates to a composition for controlling vegetative rotiness comprising a newly isolated and identified bacteriophage PP2 as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting the proliferation or killing of a Pectobacterium carotovorum species comprising bacteriophage PP2 (KACC97029P) as an active ingredient. The bacteriophage PP2 of the present invention can be used as a microbial pesticide for control of rottenness of vegetables because it has a controlling effect against the rotting of fresh vegetables, and can be used instead of antibiotics, thereby reducing the possibility of occurrence of antibiotic resistant bacteria and improving environmental safety.본 발명은 새롭게 분리, 동정된 박테리오파지 PP2를 유효성분으로 포함하는 채소 무름병 방제용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로, 본 발명은 박테리오파지 PP2(KACC97029P)를 유효성분으로 포함하는 펙토박테리움 종(Pectobacterium carotovorum species)의 증식 억제 또는 사멸용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 박테리오파지 PP2는 신선채소의 무름병에 방제 효과가 있어 채소의 무름병 방제를 위한 미생물 농약으로 활용될 수 있고, 항생제 대신 사용될 수 있으므로, 항생제 내성균 출현 가능성을 감소시키고, 환경 안전성을 높일 수 있다.
