A device (1) for dosing and aerosolisation / nebulisation of an aerosolizable dry powder material is disclosed. The device (1) comprises a body (2) with an aerosolization channel (3) having a distal attachment portion (4) which can be connected to a pulsed pressure source of carrier gas and a proximal attachment portion (5) for outputting aerosolized material towards a patient. A reservoir (9) is connected in a gas-tight manner to the body (2) in fluid connection with the channel (3) for receiving the material to be aerosolized. A hollow spacer (20) is attached to the proximal attachment portion (5). The inner walls of the spacer contain self-exciting membranes (22, 24) which are excited by the pressure pulses. The device (1) may be used in a system in combination with a gas source and a ventilator or CPAP machine.
