PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a freezing of a diameter-reducing operation mechanism by keeping a constant heat-retaining space above a diameter-reducing operation mechanism of a loop-shaped capture wire to close a freeze-prevention plate. The present invention relates to a catching tool for a pest that does not hinder the capturing operation. SOLUTION: A notch for leading out a capture wire is formed on a peripheral side wall of a tubular capture case, and a capture wire is introduced into the capture case from the notch to form a loop part in the capture case, and the capture case is also provided. A tread plate is installed in the case while maintaining a constant heat-retaining space from the upper part, and the loop part of the capture wire is configured to be sandwiched between the outer peripheral side face of the tread plate and the inner peripheral side face of the capture case. A cover plate was closed at the upper end opening of the case to maintain a heat-retaining space between it and the lower tread.
