PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hook-type scooping tool having excellent hook handling safety.SOLUTION: The scooping tool includes an extension rod part 10 comprising a plurality of rod members 11 having different diameters and connected with each other in an extensible manner, a catching hook part 20 having a hook 24 at a tip end of a body line 23 extending forward in axial direction from a tip part of a thinnest rod member 11a of the extension rod part 10, and a butt plug 40 having a retaining means 43 to inhibit slip off of a rod hook unit Y in the case of constricting the extension rod part 10 to the minimum length by inserting the rod hook unit Y having the catching hook part 20 connected to the rod member 11a into the rod member 11f having the largest diameter.
