The present invention provides a stable, aqueous solution comprising bromfenac or a pharmacologically acceptable salt, polymorph, ester or hydrate thereof and/or pharmaceutically acceptable excipients wherein the invention is preferably devoid of an alkyl aryl polyether alcohol type polymer such as tyloxapol, a polyethylene glycol fatty acid ester such as polyethylene glycol monostearate and BAC. Also the present invention is preferably devoid of antioxidants such as sulfite but not limited to sodium sulfite, potassium sulfite and the like.
