The absorbent body includes a layer containing a gelling agent and a layer containing an endothermic agent, and is characterized in that the gelling agent in the layer containing the gelling agent includes polysaccharides that can thicken in the presence of polyvalent metal ions and a material that can supply polyvalent metal ions, and in that the layer containing the gelling agent is disposed nearer to the surface than the layer containing the endothermic agent.
