The subject of the present invention is therefore a cosmetic composition for cleaning the body or for conditioning the hair, comprising: (i) one or more hydrophobically modified celluloses having a content of hydrophobic groups greater than 0.6% by weight, relative to the total weight hydrophobically modified cellulose, (ii) one or more sulfate and / or sulphonate group anionic surfactants, and (iii) one or more branched fatty alcohols.
