PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sampling device suitable for collecting a sample in an aquaculture environment, a closed system, or the gastrointestinal tract of a human or an animal. Sampling equipment comprises a discharge compartment that creates an increased space or volume for storing the sample. A sampling device can be orally administered to an animal and the device can be recovered to analyze the collected samples to diagnose gastrointestinal health and determine nutrient absorption and nutrient digestibility.
