There is provided herein a method of manufacturing an embolization device for promoting clot formation in a lumen comprising a stem and a group of flexible bristles for anchoring the embolization device to the lumen. The method comprises placing a plurality of flexible bristles between two parallel wires. The method further comprises fixing the wires at one end. The method also comprises twisting the wires at the other end to form a helix such that the bristles are rotationally offset from one another.
