PURPOSE: A method for controlling a dehumidifier is provided to protect a user from dust attached on an evaporator by operating a compressor and stopping an air blowing fan at a predetermined time after the dehumidifier is stopped.CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a dehumidifier includes the following steps of: determining whether a predetermined time is elapsed after a dehumidifier is stopped(S3, S5) operating a compressor and stopping an air blowing fan if the predetermined time is elapsed(S11) and operating the compressor such that an evaporator becomes lower than a dew point in a bad odor removing step. The dew point is calculated and extracted from a micom using the temperature and humidity of indoor air.
