PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic apparatus capable of acquiring accurate results of measurement according to the pupil diameter of an examined eye when the state of response of the examined eye is examined by applying the stimulation light of different intensities with constant background light.

SOLUTION: The apparent sensitivities measured when the pupil diameter D1 is varied are previously measured for a number of subjects, and the quantities of correction y necessary to correct the measured sensitivities to the sensitivity in a standard pupil diameter are stored as a correction quantity database TBL2. The ophthalmic apparatus comprises a measuring means 43 for measuring the pupil diameter D1 of the examined eye, a computing means for computing the shape parameter ratio of the measured pupil diameter to the standard pupil diameter, and a determining means 21 for computing the quantity of correction from the shape parameter ratio by referring to the correction quantity database, correcting the apparent sensitivity acquired from the measurement of the examined eye, and determining the stage of sensitivity of the examined eye.
