PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving eligibility of cell-mediated transformation of plant cells.SOLUTION: A method for improving eligibility of bacterium-mediated transformation of a plant cell includes contact with an effective amount of polyethylene glycol (PEG) over predetermined time before transformation of a plant cell. In the method, an effective amount of polyethyleneglycol is appropriately 1 to appropriately 25 vol.%. In the method, a molecular weight of polyethyleneglycol is appropriately 200 to appropriately 10000. In the method, at least one plant growth regulator of an effective amount is used together with a polyethyleneglycol-containing composition.
