A method for treatment of acne by applying to human skin a topicalcomposition. Themethod involves contacting the human skin of area of an afflicted subject withan effectiveamount of the composition containing chromium and magnesium sulfate, for aperiod of timesufficient to reduce the redness and blemishes associated with acne. Thetopical composition isformulated into a pharmaceutically acceptable medium to properly regulate thekeratin andsebum production of the skin cells, thereby inhibiting the appearance of acnetherefore. Thepreferred use of the foregoing composition and method is in the treatment ofacne.
