1. An inhaler comprising a housing for receiving a strip having a plurality of blisters, wherein each blister contains a punctured closure member and contains a dose of medication for inhalation by the user, a mouthpiece mounted on the housing and through which the user inhales the dose of medication, a blister piercing element mounted to rotate around the first axis, and a drive mechanism including a drive lever mounted to rotate around the second axis for sequential movement of each blister in combination with a blister piercing element, wherein the drive lever interacts with the blister piercing element so that the blister piercing element rotates around the first axis in response to the rotation of the drive element from the initial position around the second axis to pierce the closing element of the aligned blister so that an air flow passes through a blister for capturing the dose contained therein and transferring it through the mouthpiece to the airways of the user when the user inhales through the mouthpiece. 2. The inhaler according to claim 1, wherein the blister piercing element is fixedly attached to the mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece is pivotally mounted on the housing so that the mouthpiece rotates with the blister piercing element around the first axis in response to the rotation of the drive lever around the second axis.
