Antigen binding molecules that bind to the epitope of 3E10 and methods of using them are provided. The antigen binding molecule can comprise, for example, two or more variant single chain variable fragments (scFv) of monoclonal antibody 3E10, wherein the variant scFv is one or more compared to the corresponding 3E10 scFv. With more insertions, deletions or substitutions, the molecule can bind to an epitope of 3E10, preferably specifically.
