PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective skin conditioning composition which brings a light after-use feeling without leaving discomfort, greasiness or undesired shine after use. A coatable conditioning composition for use in a personal care composition comprising a blend of a branched chain hydrocarbon and an ester having a kinematic viscosity of about 100 centistokes or less. The composition can be natural, for example, when each of the branched chain hydrocarbons and esters is independently of plant origin. The composition may lack a source derived from palm oil. In one embodiment, the composition is a blend of hydrogenated farnesene and an ester selected from glyceryl triheptanoate, dicapryl succinate, heptyl undecylenate, and mixtures thereof.
