Disclosed herein is a head-mounted display device. The head-mounted display device comprises: a display unit disposed to face a user's face when the user wears the device and configured to provide the user with virtual reality images via an image output means disposed on one side thereof； a first biometric data acquiring unit disposed at the display unit and configured to capture the user's face accommodated in the display unit when the user wears the device to acquire first biometric data； and a second biometric data acquiring unit disposed at the display unit and configured to come in contact with the user's skin when the user wears the device to acquire second biometric data.According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the head-mounted display device can not only provide a user with virtual reality image but also acquire biometric data from the user's face who is watching the virtual reality image to thereby check the user's cognitive and emotional conditions. Accordingly, it is possible to develop contents including various experience elements. Furthermore, it is possible to improve satisfaction of the user's experience by providing contents suitable for the user's current conditions in real-time.
