PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that, in the conventional technique, a visual measurement of the dimension of a lesion using a gage often causes reading errors due to a guess of a measurer or a simple misreading of a scale and, in a measure forceps, the measurement range is limited by the length of a measure section.

SOLUTION: This robotic arm system is characterized by inserting a channel of an endoscope in a body cavity, setting a plurality of measuring points around the lesion using the arm distal end provided in a bendable arm part 6 or the distal end of an operative instrument, and determining the dimension of the lesion by computing based on coordinate information of the measuring points.
