PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate of an IL-2 moiety and a polymer. Conjugates of an IL-2 moiety with one or more non-peptidic water-soluble polymers are provided. Typically the non-peptidic water soluble polymer is poly(ethylene glycol) or a derivative thereof. Also provided are, among other things, compositions comprising the conjugates, methods of making the conjugates, methods of administering the compositions to individuals, nucleic acid sequences, expression systems, host cells, and methods of preparing IL moieties. In one or more embodiments of the present invention there is provided a conjugate comprising a residue of an IL-2 moiety covalently linked to a water soluble polymer, wherein the residue of the IL-2 moiety is: Covalently attached to the water-soluble polymer via a releasable linkage.
