A front mower 1 for mounting on a front three point linkage of a tractor comprises a headstock for mounting to the linkage. A mowing head 40 with an array of cutting heads 41 is mounted on and moveable relative to the headstock to follow the contours of the ground over which the mower is passing. A mounting mechanism 60 is included to mount the mowing head to the headstock, wherein the mounting mechanism comprises a cutting angle adjustment mechanism 61 comprising an arc shaped guide 62 and a follower 63 for the guide, moveable back and forth along the guide, so that the cutting angle adjustment mechanism allows the mowing head to move along an arc defined by the guide, relative to the headstock so as to vary the cutting angle of the cutting heads. The front mower may comprise a biasing means (65a, 65b, figure 4) to bias the mowing head towards a predetermined potion along the arc. Preferably a tilting mechanism 14 is included for side to side movement of the mounting mechanism, which may balance the mowing head to remain at a given angle. An adjustable skid 90 may be included to track the ground contours.
