The invention relates to a method for processing hair and a kit thereof. Alkali and acid crosslinking formulas are provided. The alkali crosslinking formula contains at least dual functional Bronsted base, and the acid crosslinking formula contains an at least dual functional organic acid. A makeup acceptable carrier is also provided. The alkali and acid crosslinking formulas are used on keratin fiber. The alkali crosslinking formula can be mixed with a commercially available hair coloring or hair bleaching ingredient.
