In solid tumor cancer cells, pl40Cap (Cas associated protein) is a novel Src binding protein, which regulates Src activation by modulating Csk kinase. pl40Cap over-expression inhibits Src kinase, cell motility and invasion； moreover, cell proliferation and in vivo cancer cells growth are strongly impaired by pl40Cap over-expression, that acts as a novel negative regulator of Src and of tumour growth.
