PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology capable of retaining an SN ratio and suppressing power consumption even if there is a change in external environment such as outside light, in a photoelectric pulse wave measuring apparatus for measuring a pulse wave.
SOLUTION: In a drive control section 31 of this photoelectric pulse wave measuring apparatus, an initialization section 310 sets drive conditions (an amount of light emission, a light emitting interval, a light emitting time and the like) of light pulse before starting the pulse wave measurement. A state monitoring section 311 monitors the states of the external environment such as the state of the intensity of the outside light and its fluctuation, and the use state of the photoelectric pulse wave measuring apparatus. A drive regulation section 313 determines the drive conditions of the light pulse based on the state of the external environment after starting the measurement of the pulse wave, acquires the information of the pulse wave measured on the light pulse output under the determined drive conditions and regulates the duty ratio of the light pulse output based on the fluctuation state of the measured pulse wave.
