The present invention relates to a composition for suppressing an immune response, containing a Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor, and to a composition for protecting the pancreatic islet, containing a JAK inhibitor. The composition of the present invention has an excellent effect of suppressing blood- and cell-mediated immune responses, including instant blood mediated inflammatory reaction (IBMIR), which is the main cause of pancreatic islet loss, and, unlike traditional immunosuppressants, has effects of maintaining the function of the pancreatic islet and promoting the survival rate of the pancreatic islet, thereby being usable in the suppression of the immune response and the protection of pancreatic islet cells during the xenotransplantation of the pancreatic islet.본 발명은 JAK(Janus Kinase) 억제제를 포함하는 면역반응 억제용 조성물, JAK(Janus Kinase) 억제제를 포함하는 췌도 보호용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 조성물은 췌도의 주요소실원인인 즉각성 혈액매개성 염증반응(IBMIR)을 포함한 혈액 및 세포매개성 면역반응 억제효과가 우수할 뿐만 아니라, 기존의 면역억제제와 달리 췌도의 기능유지 및 췌도의 생존률을 향상시키는 효과가 있으므로 이종간 췌도 이식시 면역반응 억제 및 췌도 세포의 보호에 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
