PURPOSE: A hair coloring composition is provided to show coloring stability without biological toxicity and to remarkably shorten hair coloring time. CONSTITUTION: A hair coloring composition contains: a first agent containing 100 g of purified water, 900 g of glycerin or 10-80 g of poly(ethylene glycol), 0.001-1 g of AgNO3, and 0.1-30 g of sodium salts selected among sodium succinate, sodium citrate, sodium malate, sodium stannate, sodium fumarate, and a mixture thereof； and a second agent containing 50-150 g of glycerin, 0.01-20 g of FeSO4, and 0.001-20 g of tannic acids. A hair coloring method comprises the steps of: wetting hair and applying the first agent onto a part of the wet hair； rinsing and drying the hair； and applying the second agent onto the hair.
