Provided is a balloon catheter having good rewrapping characteristics achieved without mounting an outside member from the outside of the balloon. A balloon catheter has a long catheter body 11 and a balloon 30 which is provided on the distal side of the catheter body 11 and which is capable of being inflated and deflated. The catheter body 11 has a hollow outer tube 14 and a hollow inner tube 15 which is disposed inside the outer tube. When in a deflated state, the balloon 30 is folded so as to have: a contact section 36 which is in contact with the inner tube 15； and a blade section 37 which protrudes radially from the contact section 36.
