The invention relates to a method and installation (1) for harvestingshellfish that have been caught on a sheet-like substrate (6), such as a net.The substrate is fed in a longitudinal direction past harvesting members (19)that free shellfish clinging to the substrate from the substrate. The methodand installation according to the invention provide for tensioning of thesubstrate at the harvesting members in the transverse direction of thesubstrate. The method and installation according to the invention furthermoreprovide for driving of the substrate at the harvesting members, at the bottomand the top, by means of transport means (20) in order to ensure a uniformfeed past the transport members.
