PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an introduction assisting device with a side hole which reduces the occurrence of flattening or kinking of a portion where the side hole is provided, while securing the flexibility of a tubular body to be inserted within a tubular organ.SOLUTION: An introduction assisting device 11 comprises a tubular body 13 to be inserted to a tubular organ of a human body, the tubular body 13 having a side hole 27 provided in its peripheral wall, which makes it possible to introduce a medical device 21 into the tubular organ through the side hole 27 in the tubular body 13. The tubular body 13 comprises a flexible body portion 23 and a rigid portion 25 provided at the intermediate portion of the body portion 23 and being more rigid than the body portion 23.
