A cassette that is adapted to engage a drive mechanism, for use in infusing amedicinal liquid intoa patient, comprising: (a) a housing having a base on which is mounted afacing member, a fluid pathbeing defined at least in part by the base and extending through the cassettebetween an inlet port and anoutlet port of the cassette, said fluid path including: (i) an inlet passagecoupled in fluid communicationwith the inlet port； (ii) an outlet passage coupled in fluid communicationwith the outlet port； and (iii) apumping chamber disposed between the inlet passage and the outlet passage； and(b) an elastomericmembrane that extends over the fluid path and when displaced into the pumpingchamber, is adapted toforce a fluid from the pumping chamber.
