A lancet cartridge (A1) is provided with a skin contact section (71) that is held in the interior of a lancet holder (2) and that includes a second pricking opening (71a). A first pricking opening (23a) is formed to a size such that a skin contact section (71) can be accommodated therein. Upon pressing in the pricking direction (N1), the skin contact section (71) is accommodated in the first pricking opening (23a), and the leading end section of a pricking member (5) protrudes through the second pricking opening (71a). The skin contact section (71) can be removed from the first pricking opening (23a), such that leading end section of the pricking member (5) protrudes through the first pricking opening (23a) in a case where the skin contact section is removed.
