The intervertebral implant includes an implant body sized to be inserted into the intervertebral space and a fixation assembly configured to attach to the implant body. The anchoring assembly includes a housing defining a first vertebra directed surface and a second vertebra directed surface spaced from the first vertebra directed surface along the transverse direction.
