PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new neovascularization-promoting medicine for ischemic diseases.SOLUTION: This neovascularization-promoting medicine for ischemic diseases, is characterized by containing 1-benzyl-4-[(5,6-dimethoxy-1-indanon)-2-yl]methylpiperidine (donepezil) and/or its salt. The donepezil acts on vascular endothelial cells, cardiac muscle cells, or skeletal muscle cells to induce the expression of vascular endothelial cell proliferation factor and promote neovascularization.
