The invention relates to a surface-coating composition for metal implants made of titanium alloys previously plated with zeolite, which are used in orthopaedics and dentistry, and to a coating process which uses the said composition. The claimed composition consists of 0.1...2% tribomechanically-activated modified natural zeolite clinoptilolite, 0.5...2% thyme, oregano, sage or myrtle essential oils and 1...5 % hydrolysed collagen in distilled water, the percentage being expressed by weight. The claimed process consists in that implants based on titanium alloy, previously plated with zeolite, are coated with collagen and then modified with tannic acid, after which they are immersed into the claimed composition and dried at the room temperature.
