A method and system for controlling hand hygiene compliance in a health careenvironment is provided. Location identification tags in communication withsensors on hand hygiene instruments within a health care environment, aremonitored to collect hand hygiene event data and to determine rates of handhygiene compliance below set targets. Root causes of hand hygiene complianceare identified and corresponding hand hygiene solutions are provided toimplement lean analytics and six sigma based improvement to hand hygienecompliance rates.
